When creative kinship aligns, the results feel especially transformative. So it was when Ryan Hughes, owner of design showroom R. Hughes, invited Sean Anderson to design his Atlanta home—a collaboration grounded in shared vision and mutual trust.

With few directives, the interiors evolved as a layered composition of antiques, bespoke furnishings, and art rich with energy and meaning. A walnut-lined kitchen and dining space, crafted alongside locally milled cabinets, anchors the home with quiet confidence. Throughout, nuanced plasterwork in terra-cottas, blushes, and rust lends warmth; together, they render an environment that’s sensual after dark, effortless by day.

Whimsical wallpapers, checkered textiles, and expressive marbles are treated almost as neutrals, tempering the interplay of bold elements so art and daily life remain central. A singular green, first chosen for the exterior trim, envelops the entry hall in a gesture both unexpected and assured.

The result is a home shaped by balance and creative tension: dynamic yet enduring, personal yet timeless.
