At its heart, this project is a story of friendship. Shaped by years of shared respect between Sean Anderson and architect Jeffrey Dungan, it unfolds as a stone house set into a mountainside: outward-looking yet inwardly calm. Carved from a steep, wooded slope, the home is tailored for gathering, reflection, and daily life.

The design leans into contrast—light and shadow, rough and refined—echoing the architecture’s rhythm of compression and release. Intimate spaces are wrapped in deeper tones and richer materials, while open, light-filled rooms are treated with a gentler hand.

Throughout, the landscape and structure lead. Groin-vaulted ceilings, dramatic arches, and intricate stonework are layered with singular pieces chosen for their quiet presence. Though generous in scale, the home unfolds as a series of distinct worlds, each offering its own sense of refuge.

Collected through the design team’s far-ranging travels, the interiors reflect a global perspective. From its expressive lighting to Scandinavian seating, antique paintings, and custom furnishings, the home feels grounded, expansive, and deeply personal.

Sean’s work reminds us that mood can form a welcome, restraint can be generous, and that a room shaped with love and humility becomes a place to truly live.
