Every project begins with listening. The Sean Anderson team observes, notes, and learns, from style preferences to subtle habits, crafting a story that shapes a home for a lifetime. This lakeside primary residence exemplifies that approach: a ground-up build by trusted architect collaborator Jeffrey Dungan that is rooted in tradition yet alive with hints of the homeowners’ playful eccentricity.

Unexpected elements emerge through light, color, and art. With views unobstructed by walls, many defining pieces (a tunnel slide in the great room, a hand-patinated metal console, sculptural dining lights) seem to float, lending a sense of whimsy even amid the cozier, darker corners of the home.

Playful touches abound: a rope chair, a claw-foot coffee table, a rolling green ottoman. Every room carries intention, balancing classical formality with delight. One-of-a-kind furnishings, vibrant color, and inviting textures make the house feel alive, filled with personality and a quiet sense of joy.

There are so many designers that do pretty things, but they don’t touch your heart. There’s something in the tones, the colors, the textures, and the pieces that he pulls together that also gets at your heartstrings.
